A mosque has banned women over the age of 12 from participating in a charity race in London

Women and girls over 12 years old have been banned by a mosque from participating in a charity race, according to what the British newspaper The Mail on Sunday revealed today. The 5 km (3.1 miles) event will be held in a park in East London and has been advertised as an "inclusive and family-friendly" event.
The race is called "Muslim Charity Run" and is organized by East London Mosque, in a neighborhood with a high percentage of Muslim population. Men and boys of all ages will be able to participate, but the organizers insisted that teenage girls and women over 12 years old are excluded.
The municipality where the event is held is governed by the left-wing Aspire party, founded by a former Labour Party councillor of Bangladeshi origin. The announced segregation has sparked growing concern about the rise of sharia values that seem to prevail over British laws and traditions in communities across the country.

Human rights and feminist organizations have stated that the decision made by East London Mosque "likely" violates the United Kingdom's Equality Act. However, it is known that this race has been held since 2012 with the same segregationist policy, without a single public criticism or state intervention having been caused.
In fact, the aforementioned British newspaper learned of a woman who has tried several times to address the issue with the organizers and has pressured them on social media. Despite this, the mosque leaders insisted last night that their policy doesn't contravene the Equality Act, which makes it illegal to discriminate against a person because of their sex.
The fact that the United Kingdom is surrendering to sharia values is a reality—and a concern—that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, raised last month at the UN. In a chilling warning, the Republican said that London is "sliding toward sharia law" under its "terrible" mayor, Sadiq Khan.
Khan, a far-left Muslim politician who has held the London mayoralty for years, replied to Trump by calling him "Islamophobic" and "racist" and also did not respond last night to a request for comment on whether the rules of the "Muslim Charity Run" were acceptable.
