Los Palmeras and Cacho Deicas's departure: The truth behind the split

The breakup that surprised fans: Debts and internal differences marked the end

The departure of Cacho Deicas from Los Palmeras was a hot topic in the music scene, and as more details emerged, the situation became even more complex. First, the deteriorating relationship between Deicas and Marcos Camino, the band's bandoneon player, was identified as the main reason behind this decision.

The lack of agreement regarding the number of performances and the incompatibility of schedules, due to the aftereffects of a stroke suffered by the vocalist, accelerated the dissolution of the musical partnership they both shared.

The debt that complicated the situation

Journalist Juan Etchegoyen, on his show Mitre Live, revealed that the tension within the band intensified when, in addition to work-related conflicts, Deicas began facing a large debt. According to Etchegoyen, Cacho hadn't received his share of the group's income since March, which further worsened his relationship with Marcos Camino and the rest of the band.

"What I'm told by people close to Cacho is that he could only do two shows a month and that, for that reason, they decided to dissolve his participation. But the most serious issue is that he hasn't been paid the share that corresponds to him for months," the journalist explained.

Los Palmeras's official statement

In response to Cacho Deicas's statements, which directly pointed to Marcos Camino for not allowing him to return to the group,  Los Palmeras issued a statement on their social media to clarify the situation. In the text, the band explained that they had tried to contact Deicas by all possible means after his stroke, but it was in May when they received a formal letter in which Cacho detailed his health condition.

In that letter, Deicas mentioned the difficulties in resuming his work and artistic activities, which led the band to make the decision to dissolve their partnership.

In the statement, Los Palmeras also explained that, due to his health condition, Deicas couldn't fulfill the band's contractual obligations, which forced the dissolution of the partnership. Despite this split, the group assured that it would move forward with its schedule and continue performing for its fans without the historic vocalist's presence.

A future without Cacho Deicas

The band made it clear that Los Palmeras would continue with their work, fulfilling their commitments and bringing their music to the public, although without one of their most emblematic members.

Despite efforts to solve the situation internally, the differences were irreconcilable, and now the group will face a future without Cacho Deicas, who was one of the most representative figures of the Santa Fe-based group.

This conflict between the two founding members of Los Palmeras leaves an open question about the band's future, but it also marks a change in the history of the group that left its mark on Argentine tropical music.
