The new 26/27 agricultural campaign begins with values of rural leases that are being negotiated with low quintals, in the province of Córdoba.
Thus, as of May, agricultural rents show an average value of 11.5 qq/ha of soybeans, down by 0.5 quintals compared to the previous cycle.
As for the payment methods, the most chosen is the biannual one, followed by the monthly one.
These are some of the data that emerged from the first estimate of the prices of field rentals based on surveys conducted with employees of the Department of Agronomic Information (DIA) published by the Córdoba Cereal Exchange (BCCBA
).
Why are rents in dollars for fields in Córdoba falling
For the 2026/27 campaign, the average agricultural lease for the province of Córdoba would be 11.5 qq/ha, according to the first survey carried out in
April by the BCCBA.
This value would be lower than the previous campaign by 0.5 qq/ha, but it remains in line with the average of the last five campaigns.
To determine the cost in dollars per hectare of the price of renting fields in Córdoba, the quintals of soybeans requested are evaluated at the harvest price of the oilseed as of
May 2027.
Precisely, in the last days of April, this value stood at US$33.1 per quintals, according to the price of A3 Mercados, so a cost of US$380.7 per hectare is expected.
In this way, “this value would be 5% higher than last year's figure, and would be the highest since the 2022/23 campaign,” said the BCCBA technicians.
Rural leases in Córdoba by department
If you consider leases at the departmental level, you can analyze the maximum and minimum values achieved in each of them
respectively.
On the side of those with the highest values, Marcos Juárez and Unión would be located with 18.5 qq/ha and 15 qq/ha respectively, located in the southeast of the province.
Meanwhile, Rio Seco and Tulumba have the lowest requirements, with 8.5 qq/ha and 9 qq/ha respectively, located in the north of the province.
In turn, the report points out that the Unión Department is the geographical unit that would have the greatest dispersion according to the values
surveyed.
“This is because there is a wide heterogeneity in soil quality, ranging from 8 qq/ha to 18 qq/ha.”, they explained.
Meanwhile, Marcos Juárez is the second department to have the highest dispersion of data, with a difference of 7 qq/ha between the data presented.
In parallel, the BCCBA report analyzed the variations experienced by each department in qq/ha compared to the previous campaign.
In this regard, the departments that showed increases are Rio Primero and Rio Segundo by 0.5 qq/ha intercampaign, each.
Modality of payment for rural rents in Córdoba
Regarding the form of payment in which leases are agreed, once the quintals of soybeans have been established by contract, the survey indicated that the most chosen modality is the biannual one, which is specified, 50% at planting and 50% at harvest. 28% of those consulted preferred this form of payment
.
Second, 21%, choose the monthly rate. Meanwhile, the third place is shared by the harvest and quarterly categories with 17% each, while to be determined by the landlord (owner of the field) it represents only 5%
