Amid a difficult personal moment, Lourdes Fernández—better known as Lowrdez and a member of the renowned pop band Bandana—broke her silence and spoke publicly about the legal situation of her ex-partner, Leandro García Gómez, who remains in custody after being accused of gender-based violence and unlawful deprivation of liberty.
The artist was approached by a reporter from the program A la tarde while she was heading to a rehearsal. Although she appeared affected by the media exposure and the legal context, she decided to stop for a few seconds to answer some questions about the case that directly involves her.
"I had a terrible sore throat, I'm going to rehearsal really late," she began, speaking in a visibly tired tone. However, the conversation took a turn when journalist Oliver Quiroz mentioned the recent court decision that denied her ex-boyfriend's release.
La exintegrante de Bandana habló tras conocerse la decisión judicial sobre Leandro García Gómez.
"Today Leandro was denied release," the reporter pointed out. In response, the singer replied without hesitation: "I'm very sad about that, he didn't do anything to me," a statement that caused media impact and sparked debate on social media.
These words draw attention since, according to reports, the court had previously issued a restraining order prohibiting the accused from approaching her. When asked about this measure, Fernández briefly confirmed: "Yes, they restricted that for me." She then left the scene without providing further details.
The case is in the hands of Judge Diego Slupski, who rejected the request for release submitted by García Gómez's defense. According to journalist Carlos Salerno on Desayuno Americano, the investigation keeps that, before being detained, the accused allegedly assaulted the artist and that she had expressed to those around her her intention to leave the home they shared, although she was unable to do so.
The defense insists on his innocence and seeks to overturn the court's decision. Meanwhile, the accused remains in custody awaiting further developments.
Hours later, the singer's mother, Mabel López, also addressed the case in statements to the same program. "I agree with her that it's all very sad. As I told you, he was loving at first and then I don't know what happened. It's a very sad situation," she expressed with concern.
