The Minister of Health alluded to President Milei's speech by stating that it is necessary to 'break with wastefulness and put an end to a state accustomed to sustaining privileges.'

National Health Minister Mario Lugones referred to President Javier Milei's speech, who, in a national broadcast, stated, among other things, that his mission is to eradicate inflation and lay the foundations for the country's sustained growth.

After referring to fiscal discipline and having succeeded in reducing year-on-year inflation from 300% to 25%, the President warned that backtracking on this path would mean repeating the "worst default record of the last 100 years" and returning to reliance on monetary issuance or tax increases, options that—he warned—would inevitably lead to hyperinflation, poverty, and social upheaval."

Milei sostuvo que su misión es erradicar la inflación y sentar las bases de un crecimiento sostenido del país.

"There is no possibility that I'll allow this to happen. We're not going back to the past, we're not returning to the path of decline," he stated.

Meanwhile, Lugones stated in a post on X: "As Milei said: "Let's never give in to evil, we're going to fight it with much greater strength." That is the essence of the cultural battle: ending the populism that mortgaged our future, breaking with wastefulness, and putting an end to a State used to sustain privileges."

He also spoke about the importance of safeguarding resources and achieving efficiency.

"Every step toward order and efficiency is a step toward ensuring resources reach where they're truly needed. In health, that means hospitals equipped, doctors recognized for their work, and patients receiving the care they deserve," he stated.

"There are no third ways: either we continue on the path of responsibility and genuine growth, or we return to the decline that left health care without medicines, without supplies, and without a future," he concluded.
