Historic renovation of Luna Park: what changes will take place and when it will reopen

DF Entertainment and Live Nation signed a strategic agreement with Estadio Luna Park S.A to comprehensively renovate and manage one of Buenos Aires's most iconic cultural venues. The alliance provides for a deep modernization that will allow the stadium to be on par with the world's most important venues.

The agreement includes the administration of the stadium for several decades, with a reopening scheduled for the end of 2027 and an estimated annual schedule of more than 150 events, including national and international shows.

Historic renovation for a national monument

Inaugurated in 1932 and declared a National Historic Monument in 2007, Luna Park will undergo a comprehensive restoration that will preserve its original façade, its iconic signage, and its classic architectural elements.

The remodeling will be carried out by Live Nation's international development team, in collaboration with Argentine architecture and engineering firms.  The goal is to keep its historical identity alive while modernizing its infrastructure to meet international standards for sound, production, and sustainability.

What Luna Park's renovation will include

The project involves a complete transformation of the stadium to enhance the experience for  artists, producers, and fans. Among the main changes are:

  • Creation of the Luna Park Museum, which will pay tribute to its history, major concerts, and sporting events.
  • Acoustic and visual improvements to optimize the quality of performances.
  • Expansion of gastronomic spaces and VIP areas.
  • New locker room zones and technical rooms, ideal for complex productions.
  • Premium areas and boxes, designed for new exclusive experiences.
  • Parking facilities to improve accessibility to the venue.
  • Redesign of access points for the public and technical teams, minimizing the impact on the urban environment.
  • Installation of sustainable energy systems, aligned with energy efficiency standards.

A new chapter for entertainment in Buenos Aires

With this transformation,  the stadium aims to establish itself as the main entertainment venue in Argentina and the region, in a context where Buenos Aires remains one of Latin America's great cultural capitals, but has historically had little modern infrastructure for large-scale shows.

DF Entertainment and Live Nation expressed their enthusiasm for having been selected through a private competitive process: "We're going to put all our resources into ensuring Luna remains an icon of live entertainment," said Diego Finkelstein, founder of DF Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation, stated:  "It's an honor to be part of the renovation of this historic venue and to continue connecting the world's best artists with Buenos Aires's passionate audience."

Luna Park's shareholders stated that this stage will allow them to offer a comprehensive experience, preserving its legacy and enhancing the stadium's cultural impact.
