
'Mandatory roadside stop': Pato Filliol's unique celebration for his 75th birthday
The 1978 World Cup champion shared on social media how he celebrated his day with his wife, Olga, and his dog, Balboa
Ubaldo Matildo Fillol, legend of River and World Cup-winning goalkeeper with theArgentina National Team in 1978, celebrated his 75th birthday this Monday and decided to share part of his day with his followers on social media.
"Mandatory roadside stop with my wife Olga to start celebrating my birthday and World Dog Day with our beloved Balboa," wrote "Pato" on his X account, along with a photo showing him smiling next to his partner, his dog, and a hearty plate of milanesa a caballo with French fries, accompanied by orange juice.

Hours earlier, he had also posted a message of gratitude: "I started the day with lots of calls and greetings on social media. Thank you all very much for the affection on my 75th birthday. Your recognition makes me very happy, today and always. A big hug from post to post."
Fillol, born on July 21, 1949 in San Miguel del Monte, is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the history of Argentine soccer. He was a key figure in the 1978 World Cup title and excelled at River between 1973 and 1983, where he won seven domestic titles.
The Núñez club didn't take long to greet him: "Happy birthday, Ubaldo Fillol! Eternal legend of the Millonario goal and World Cup champion with the Argentina National Team," was posted from River's official account.

The Argentina National Team, CONMEBOL, and thousands of fans also joined the tribute, flooding social media with messages and displays of affection.
