Marcelo Gallardo's striking request to Franco Mastantuono's geography teacher

El Muñeco is said to have communicated with the River Institute authorities so that the midfielder could take the exam another day

Franco Mastantuono was undoubtedly the standout figure for River in the 2-1 victory against Boca on Sunday at the Monumental stadium. At just 17 years old, the forward divides his time between soccer and studies, and in recent hours a rumor emerged that Marcelo Gallardo had requested to postpone an exam for him, which led to a humorous post on the club's social media.

Although the mind of the native of Azul is almost entirely focused on the day-to-day of the club, he must, like any teenager, also attend to academic matters. In this case, it was rumored that he had a geography exam with a supposed Federico López, the subject's teacher.

In this situation, according to different versions, the Muñeco reportedly called the director of secondary level studies at the River Institute to reschedule the virtual evaluation the young midfielder owed. The reason was simple:he wouldn't have had time to study due to the team's series of matches, which included the trip to Ecuador for the Copa Libertadores and the Superclásico with Boca.

River didn't let this situation pass and took the opportunity to joke, sharing on X an image of Mastantuono setting up the ball before the free kick that ended in a goal against Boca, accompanied by the phrase: "Preparing for the Geography exam".

In any case, it should be clarified that from the Núñez institution, they categorically denied that the rumor is true.
