The great president and CEO of YPF, Horacio Marín, stated that the "Argentina LNG" project, driven together with the companies ENI (Italy) and XRG, the international investment subsidiary of the energy group ADNOC (United Arab Emirates), could generate USD 35 billion in just four years, consolidating Argentina as one of the new global players in liquefied gas exports.
In a conversation with Radio Mitre, Marín explained: “This project can generate a great impact. The agreement we have signed covers 12 million tons, which is equivalent to about 50 million cubic meters per day of exports.” He also stated that such a magnitude of exports represents an unbelievable amount of revenue for our country: "That will mean revenues for Argentina of about USD 200 billion over 20 years, that is, around USD 10 billion per year. The truth is that I am very pleased with what we have achieved.”

The head of YPF detailed that the investment will be made up of two-thirds foreign capital and one-third local investment, and anticipated strong activity in infrastructure: “I believe that in 2027 we are going to start with many construction projects. We have to build the largest gas pipeline in Argentina, in addition to an oil pipeline, a multiproduct pipeline, liquid separation plants, and the port. There will be a great deal of work. This is an enormous investment, the magnitude of which we may not yet fully grasp.”
According to his statement, if the country manages to reach the initial production of 12 million tons, without yet reaching the future goal of 18 million, “we would be talking about generating USD 35 billion in four years”.
Marín also highlighted that the business model ensures international profitability: “We are achieving projects that have profitability that can approach the best in the world. For this reason, the negotiation with the companies was not difficult.” That is, we are going to compete with the international oil giants.
