According to official data published by the National Directorate for the Registration of Automotive Property, 70,799 0-km motorcycles were registered during the second month of the year, the highest level for that period since 2018.
The volume marks an improvement of 3% compared to January and a year-on-year growth of 72.3% compared to February 2025. The good performance was also reflected in the cumulative figure for the first two months of the year: between January and February, 139,541 patents were completed, a figure that represents an increase of 39.1% compared to the same period of the previous
year. Motorcycles.
The official report also details the composition of the market by vehicle type. The motorcycle category continued to be largely dominant with 69,087 units patented during February. In second place were the scooters, which registered 1,548 operations. The rest of the market was distributed among quadricycles, tricycles and mopeds, segments with a much smaller share of the total
.
In terms
of
performance by brand, Honda once again led the monthly ranking with 13,464 patented units, representing approximately 19% of the total market. In second place was Gilera with 8,835 units, followed very closely by Motomel, which reached 8,657 records.
The year-on-year trend showed significant increases in the main brands. Honda managed to double its sales volume compared to February last year, while Gilera registered growth of close to 80% and Motomel
exceeded 45%.
The ranking of the ten best-selling brands was completed by Keller (6,830 units), Corven (6,112), Zanella (6,052), Mondial (3,885), Bajaj (3,147), Siam (2,365) and IKA with 1,644 patents.
Among these companies, the most striking growth was IKA, which multiplied its operations more than 26 times compared to February last year.
Motorcycles. Looking
at the cumulative performance of the first two months, leading brands consolidate their position in the market. Honda reached 27,208 patented units between January and February, representing an increase of 53.2% compared to the same period
in 2025.
Meanwhile, Gilera and Motomel also showed significant progress, with increases of 53.2% and 17.8%, respectively. Other firms such as Zanella and Keller recorded increases of 45.5% and 38.3%
.
In the model segment, the Honda Wave 110S remained the most chosen by users, with 6,676 units patented in February and a 9.4% market share. The second place went to the Gilera Smash, with 6,207 records, while the Keller KN110-8 ranked
third with 5,712 units.
The list of the ten best-selling models also included the Motomel B110, Corven Energy 110, Mondial LD 110 Max, Zanella ZB 110, Motomel S2 150, Motomel CX 150 and the Honda XR150L.
With 139,541 units registered in just two months, the initial balance sheet for 2026 anticipates a year of strong activity for the sector. If the trend continues, the market could match or even exceed the levels of 2018, considered so far the last record year for motorcycle sales in Argentina
