Martín Menem spoke with La Derecha Diario during the IAEF event

Menem defended the direction of the national Government, supported Karina Milei, and anticipated electoral advances in Rosario

Within the framework of the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives (IAEF) event, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, was interviewed by Javier Negre, journalist and owner of La Derecha Diario.

The dialogue revolved around the importance of the financial sector, the electoral strategy of La Libertad Avanza, and the firm defense of the decisions made by Javier Milei's Government.

Menem highlighted the presence of the Argentine president at the event and emphasized the relevance of the leader as the foremost representative of libertarian ideas. He also took the opportunity to show his support for the official candidate in Buenos Aires City, Manuel Adorni, whom he described as the true representative of the president in the district.

The interview also addressed the role of the media and the tensions caused by the elimination of official advertising, a measure Menem claimed was necessary to break with past practices. In this line, he accused certain sectors of the press of operating against the Government due to being economically affected.

Finally, Menem valued the work of Karina Milei, Secretary General of the Presidency, in the national political organization and highlighted significant victories in provinces like Jujuy, Salta, and Santa Fe. Confidently, he hinted that Rosario could have a libertarian mayor in the upcoming 2027 elections.

The complete interview with Martín Menem

Javier Negre: We are with Martín Menem, president of the Chamber of Deputies. Why did you want to participate in this IAEF event? Why is the financial sector important?

Martín Menem: It's not that I wanted to participate, I was invited a long time ago and had committed to coming. Anyway, the important thing is that the President will be here today, who is the figure that best represents what we are defending.

Negre: Already in electoral mode, Sunday is the Buenos Aires elections, after the success in Jujuy and Salta, what do you expect from the elections?

Menem: I believe Manuel is a great candidate, he is the only one who represents President Milei, he is President Milei in Buenos Aires City, and I think he will do a great job in the election. Obviously, we are very optimistic about the results, but well, we must be cautious, people have to decide. I take this opportunity to call on people to go vote, the more people vote, the better the popular will is reflected.

Negre: The role of the media, aren't you tired of the continuous operations? What do you expect for Sunday?

Menem: Let's understand that there is an issue with advertising, right? At one time, the national Government and most provincial governments managed advertising, and now the national government has cut all types of advertising. That affects some interests, they were used to receiving a lot of taxpayer money. This decision has been made, which I see as totally timely, and well, it generates noise, it generates criticism, they want to go back, and we are not going back to that scheme where taxpayer money was used for things taxpayers don't want to know about.

Negre: The boss is Karina Milei and it's clear that you are touring with her through all the provinces, all the cities. Are those efforts being seen in the electoral results?

Menem: Yes, the leadership in the political organization solely belongs to Karina Milei and we all work under the decisions she makes. This has always been the case, there was never any doubt. It's just that some want to create some kind of disorder that really isn't happening, so I wouldn't give it importance.

Negre: Thank you very much and congratulations on the results in Jujuy, Salta, Chaco, and good luck this Sunday.

Menem: Wait, and you're forgetting the most important thing, which is that we won in Rosario, the most important city in Santa Fe, which is the second-largest province after Buenos Aires, neck and neck with CABA. La Libertad Avanza has won in the capital, and maybe the media hasn't reflected it. That's why I want to highlight it and send a big hug to Romina Diez, who has done a great job, and to Nicolás Mayoraz as well in Santa Fe.

Negre: So in a few years, will there be a La Libertad Avanza mayor in Rosario?

Menem: Not in so long, 2027 is a great opportunity.

Negre: Thank you very much.
