Massacre in Villa Crespo: key doubts that remain unanswered after 24 hours
The triple homicide followed by suicide shocked the neighborhood, but there are still unanswered questions
One day after the brutal crime that shook Villa Crespo, the investigation left more questions than certainties. The Seltzer Leguizamón family was found dead in their apartment, but the environment and circumstances of the event remain shrouded in an unsettling mystery.
According to the initial hypotheses, Laura Fernanda Leguizamón, mother of two teenagers and wife of Bernardo Seltzer, may have killed her family before taking her own life. What still baffles investigators is how the severity of her psychiatric condition went undetected, despite having a history and recent relapses.
Suspicions about an unattended psychiatric crisis
The woman had been hospitalized for psychological disorders, according to her sister. However, it is unknown who the professionals treating her were or why preventive measures were not taken, such as prolonged hospitalization or warning the family about her dangerousness.
The inexplicable silence and the crime scene
Experts estimated that the murders occurred around 6 a.m. However, not a single neighbor reported hearing screams, despite the brutality of the wounds inflicted with a sharp weapon. This absence of noise drew attention, as due to the nature of the attack, the victims should have called for help.

When the domestic worker Lucía arrived at the apartment on Aguirre Street 295, after 1:30 p.m., she found Ian, the eldest son, lying in the hallway. She went into shock and alerted the neighbor from 6 "B," who called 911. The police later found the bodies of the rest of the family in different areas of the home.
The youngest son, 12 years old, was lying in the kitchen. Next to him, a letter appeared expressing fear toward one of the parents. It has not yet been determined if it was written by one of the children or by the mother herself in a state of mental disturbance.
Bernardo Seltzer, the father, was in his bed with multiple stab wounds. Initially, it was believed he was holding the weapon, but that version was discarded after analyzing the scene. Due to the position of his body, it is suspected he was attacked while sleeping.
Laura Fernanda Leguizamón was found in the bathroom, with a single fatal wound to the chest. She showed no signs of struggle, which reinforced the theory of suicide after the crime.
An avoidable tragedy?
Investigators have not yet been able to confirm who had access to the apartment, although no signs of violence or forced entry were detected. Everything indicates that no one outside the family was involved in the event.
Experts found defensive wounds on the children's bodies, suggesting they tried to resist the attack. Ian, the eldest, may have tried to escape and fell in the hallway. Ivo, his younger brother, was found lifeless in the kitchen.
The big question remains why Laura was living with her family if, according to her surroundings, her mental state posed a risk. It is also unknown if anyone in the medical circle raised alarms or if the family was fully aware of the danger.
Almost 24 hours after the event, the case left more shadows than lights. Meanwhile, as justice proceeds with expert reports and statements, the neighborhood of Villa Crespo remains shocked by a tragedy that could have been avoided.
