River inquired about Lucas Beltrán and wants to bring him back for the Club World Cup.
The Millionaire spoke with the Fiorentina player's entourage to outline a possible return, although at the moment it is unlikely
With no activity on the local front following the elimination against Platense, and less than a month before the start of the Club World Cup, River is already beginning to plan for the next transfer market. One of the names emerging as a possible reinforcement, although it currently seems distant, is Lucas Beltrán.
The Núñez team, which for the moment doesn't plan specific additions for the tournament to be held between June and July in the United States, conducted a survey of the forward's entourage who currently plays for Fiorentina in recent days. However, the desire to bring him back doesn't seem close to being realized, as the Italian club is asking for at least 10 million euros to let him go.

A key factor in this equation is that the Viking is comfortable in Europe and is not in a hurry to return, which is why the option of a loan is currently out of consideration. Additionally, the response River received regarding the economic demands of the Florence entity was not convincing.
Beltrán's numbers at River
Trained in the youth divisions of the Núñez club, Beltrán was transferred to Fiorentina for a sum close to 20 million euros, thus becoming one of the most expensive operations in River's history. Before his departure, the forward, who debuted in 2018, left a record of 22 goals, 8 assists, and 2 titles in 78 matches played.
His arrival in European football was finalized after being crowned as the top scorer of the 2023 Professional League, which River comfortably won under the leadership of Martín Demichelis. That performance also earned him occasional drafts by Lionel Scaloni to the Argentine National Team.

The other position to reinforce
Besides the forward line, River aims to strengthen the left-back position, although not for the Club World Cup, but thinking about the second half of the year and with the Libertadores as the goal. In this regard, the name of Lucas Esquivel, a player from Athletico Paranaense, resurfaces, who was close to joining in the last market. However, negotiations stalled due to multiple changes in the conditions imposed by the Brazilian club.
