Amid the ongoing legal dispute between Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara, an unexpected statement from Maxi López reshaped the media landscape. The businesswoman's ex-husband showed understanding toward his ex's current husband, hinting at public support that few anticipated.

In recent months, López had maintained a role closer to Wanda, with whom he shares the upbringing of their three children: Valentino, Benicio, and Benedicto. However, a recent interview on the show Mujeres Argentinas (ELTrece) revealed a change in stance that did not go unnoticed.

The message that surprised: "The girls need to be with their father"

Maxi López was contacted by the television program to talk about Father's Day and the family conflicts surrounding the so-called Wandagate. When asked, he sent a message that Virginia Gallardo read on air and that caused a stir:

"I already told Wanda, the last time I was in Argentina, that the girls need to be with their father. What I don't like is that my children are always exposed. I have spent a lot of time with them as well, on other occasions, with my children and with the girls, and yet, I don't make it public," López stated.

The statements were interpreted as a clear show of support for Icardi and a criticism of the media exposure suffered by the couple's children. On social media, many users praised his stance and described the gesture as a "jab" at Wanda.

Father's Day marked by tension and absences

Last Sunday, while López spent Father's Day with his children and his youngest daughter—the result of his relationship with Daniela Christiansson—Icardi faced a complex situation.

The footballer had planned to reunite with his daughters, Francesca and Isabella, at a bar located in Château Libertador. However, his lawyers advised him not to attend, given the possibility that it could be a maneuver that would complicate his legal situation.

Maxi López's gesture came just as Icardi was criticized for not spending Father's Day with his daughters and traveling to Uruguay, which increased the tension in a conflict that, although being litigated in court, is aired daily in the media.

Despite his attempts to stay out of the current controversies, Maxi López once again found himself at the center of attention. His relationship with Wanda Nara seemed to have healed after a highly publicized separation, but the recent statement made it clear that he doesn't hesitate to take sides when it comes to the children's well-being.

With a conflict that is increasingly exposed and positions that keep shifting, the battle between Icardi and Nara continues to add unexpected chapters.
