Maximiliano Salas spoke about the match between River and Racing and shared his opinion of Marcos Rojo.
The forward avoided controversy regarding his departure from La Academia, spoke about the former Boca defender, and expressed his happiness at fulfilling his dream of playing for El Millonario
With the qualification for the quarterfinals of the Copa Argentina after defeating Unión on penalties, River will face Racing in a clásico that already has special ingredients due to the way Maximiliano Salas left Academia to join Millonario.
However, during the River Foundation dinner, the forward himself tried to downplay the match: "With Racing, it's going to be just another match. I'm happy to see my former teammates again. I haven't lost contact with any of them, I still talk to almost all of them," he said. He added: "It's going to be a great match. Both of us have good teams, may the best team win."
When asked about Marcos Rojo, Salas dismissed any intention of rough play from the defender: "He's a great player, with a lot of quality. He's a great person, I have nothing against him. There's a lot of talk that he's going to hurt me, but I'm calm, I know he's a respectful player," he stated.

Meanwhile, the striker spoke about his fulfilled dream of playing for River and the challenge of staying at the top: "My dream was to play for River and I achieved it. Now I have to maintain it and keep learning new things. I'm happy, it's a big club that has everything organized. I try to live up to expectations," he emphasized.
When and where will River vs. Racing be played
For now, AFA hasn't confirmed the date for the quarterfinal match, since both teams have commitments in Copa Libertadores, which will be played between September 16 and 26. In principle, the clásico would be played in the second week of October, with the venue to be determined.
