Keith and Aviva Siegel, an Israeli-American couple who were taken hostage by the terrorist group Hamas during the massacre of October 7, 2023, will meet with the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, tomorrow at the White House.
The Siegels had already met with President Donald Trump last year, after the Republican leader and his officials secured the first ceasefire of the war in Gaza at the beginning of last year, during which Keith Siegel was released.
The couple were taken hostage by Hamas terrorists during the group's attack on Israel on October 7 and were captured in their home in Kibbutz Aza. Aviva was released before Keith, during a ceasefire in November 2023.

Melania's contributions to the peace process
The announcement of the meeting was made by Melania Trump's own office, noting that both Keith and Aviva were taken hostage, and that both will be present in the conversation.
The First Lady played a leading role in Keith's release, since Trump's wife held a previous meeting with Aviva a few months before Keith was freed that helped seal the latest truce in Gaza.
"His release came after the First Lady's meeting with his wife, Aviva Siegel, which helped set in motion the events that ultimately secured his freedom", reads the presidential statement.
Although the merit of Trump's diplomatic team is already recognized for having achieved the ceasefire and the release of the Israeli hostages - in addition to having halted, so far in the Republican presidency, a total of 8 armed conflicts - until now Melania's role in the process had not been mentioned.
