The Mendoza Government, through the Mendoza Tourism Board (Emetur), carried out an official mission in Asunción with the goal of strengthening the province's presence in one of the international markets that has grown the most in recent years. The delegation was led by Gabriela Testa, president of Emetur, and Cristina Mengarelli, director of Tourism Promotion for the organization, who participated in institutional meetings, sectoral gatherings, and exclusive presentations.
Paraguay has become a high-potential market for the province, both due to demand related to wine tourism and the remarkable growth of wedding tourism, a segment that generates a significant economic impact. According to Mendoza authorities, Paraguayan travelers highlight the ease of connection, the quality of tourism services, and the distinctive identity of Mendoza wine.
Diplomatic meetings and tourism cooperation agreements
During the mission, Testa and Mengarelli held a meeting with the Argentine ambassador to Paraguay, Guillermo Emilio Nielsen, with whom they analyzed destination positioning strategies and possible joint actions between both countries.

They also visited the National Secretariat of Tourism of the Government of Paraguay, where they were received by Andrés Ortiz, general director of Tourism Products. There, progress was made in developing a joint agenda aimed at promoting tourism exchange, strengthening communication between official agencies, and coordinating promotional activities to increase the flow of visitors.
"Vinos con Destino": a key platform for Mendoza wine tourism
One of the main events on the agenda was "Vinos con Destino: Argentine wine tourism in Paraguay," organized by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marca País, and the Argentine Chamber of Tourism. The event brought together wineries, tourism providers, operators, and specialized journalists, and made it possible to showcase Mendoza's wine offerings to influential figures in the Paraguayan market.
