A Focus Market report positioned Mendoza as the most affordable destination within the top 5 chosen by Argentines for vacationing

Mendoza ranked as the most affordable national destination among the five places most chosen by Argentines for vacations, according to a report prepared by consulting firm Focus Market for Naranja X's Financial Education Blog. The survey analyzed the costs of airline tickets and three-star hotel accommodations, considering a 14-night stay for a typical family made up of two adults and two minors.
According to the study, organizing a vacation in Mendoza has a total estimated cost of $3,610,467, which positions it as the most competitive alternative compared with other traditional destinations. In comparison, the same tourist package amounts to $7,693,084 in Bariloche and $5,121,156 in Mar del Plata, figures that double or far exceed the budget required to vacation in the province of Cuyo.
Sustained competitiveness and adaptation to the new economic context
This was the first year in which Mendoza was included in Focus Market's survey, and its performance confirms the process of price and service adjustment that the local tourism sector has been carrying out. The head of the Mendoza Tourism Board (Emetur), Gabriela Testa, emphasized that the report "confirms that the province offers highly competitive prices, both in economic terms and in the quality of services."
Testa also highlighted the role of the private sector, which managed to reorganize cost structures and adapt its offers to a new macroeconomic reality characterized by greater rationality in spending. To this is added a key decision by the provincial government: the reduction of the Gross Income tax rate for lodging and gastronomy during the current year, a measure that contributed directly to improving the destination's competitiveness.

Consumption trends and most sought-after destinations
The report also indicates that, when planning their vacations, Argentines prioritize the Atlantic coast, Patagonia, and the Cuyo region. Within the latter, three destinations in Mendoza stand out in particular: Mendoza city, San Rafael, and Uspallata. The Argentine Northwest and the hills of Córdoba follow.
According to Focus Market's director, Damián Di Pace, looking ahead to summer 2026 there is a clear trend toward short getaways and weekend trips. This behavior responds to a context of greater caution in consumption, where families seek more frequent experiences, but of shorter duration and with more controlled budgets.

"Mendoza, manso destino": concrete and accessible offers
Within the framework of the "Mendoza, manso destino" campaign, the province launched three specific proposals for the summer season, developed together with the private sector and valid until February 15. These are Manso Menú, Manso Alojamiento, and Mansa Bodega, initiatives that make it possible to access practically pre-arranged tourist packages, with clear and competitive reference prices.
Manso Menú: three-course menu plus beverage with a maximum price of $35,000.
Mansa Bodega: guided tours with tastings at wineries for up to $15,000.
Manso Alojamiento: night in a double room with breakfast, with rates ranging from $45,000 up to a ceiling of $100,000.
All the proposals and participating providers can be consulted on the province's official tourism website.
An orderly and competitive destination
With affordable prices, a wide range of experiences, and a strategy coordinated between the state and the private sector, Mendoza is positioning itself as one of the country's most attractive destinations. The Focus Market report confirms that this competitiveness is not accidental, but rather the result of sustained work in organization, investment, and tourism promotion.
