Message to governors: Guillermo Francos said that the fiscal surplus is non-negotiable
The chief of staff was in Córdoba for the anniversary of Fundación Mediterránea
While the governors were meeting at the Federal Investment Council (CFI) to present claims to the Nation, from Córdoba, Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, issued a clear warning.
"The fiscal surplus is not negotiable", he stated and anticipated that President Javier Milei will veto any law that alters it.
He did so during a lunch in Córdoba, where he arrived with Congressman Juan Carlos Espert on the occasion of the 48th anniversary celebration of Fundación Mediterránea.

"Governors always want more money; we try to find some way to respond to them that doesn't impact the accounts. However, there is no possibility that the President and Minister Luis Caputo will yield an inch on the fiscal surplus. The 24 governors may come to present their case to us, and any law that seeks to alter that will be vetoed", the official stated before about 400 businesspeople.
The results of the path set by Javier Milei
"It is undeniable that today Argentina is not the same as it was a year and a half ago. The important results of this path we began on December 10, 2023, are already beginning to emerge. We managed to stabilize the economy in a context of continuous fiscal balance", he added.

Francos stated that Argentina's potential can be fully unleashed "by giving more opportunities to the private sector, to make Argentina a country where every citizen can build their life project in freedom".
He said that for this, "it is important not to go backward" in reference to the populist policies of recent years.
In line with Milei, the Chief of Staff also stated: "I'm not going to say that I hate journalists but, sometimes, one hears comments from the press, from political leaders, that do not correspond to reality".
Meanwhile, Francos spoke about the importance of the midterm elections in October, stating that "the number of legislators we have after the elections is important".
