The Argentine president will be received in Washington to hold a key meeting with Donald Trump
Javier Milei arrived in Washington early this morning to take part in a historic day: an official meeting will be held at the White House with President Donald Trump. The summit aims to strengthen the strategic alliance between Argentina and the United States and to reaffirm the political and personal rapport between both leaders.
The Argentine president arrived accompanied by the Secretary General, Karina Milei; the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo; the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich; and the head of the Central Bank, Santiago Bausilli. On American soil, Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein and Argentine Ambassador Alec Oxenford were waiting for them. The entire delegation is staying at Blair House, the official residence for heads of state invited by the United States.

A meeting of Western leaders
The meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. (Argentine time) in the Oval Office, where Milei will be received by Donald Trump to sign the guest book and have an initial protocol greeting. Minutes later, the meeting between both presidents will begin.
After the formal meeting in the Oval Office, Milei and Trump will lead a working lunch in the Cabinet Room with their respective delegations. The agenda is open, but the main points of the bilateral agenda will be addressed: financial support, economic cooperation, and the joint strategy in response to China's expansion in Latin America.

Trump's delegation will include Marco Rubio (Secretary of State), Scott Bessent (Treasury), Pete Hegseth (Defense), Howard Lutnick (Commerce), Susie Wiles (Chief of Staff), and Peter Lamelas (U.S. Ambassador to Argentina)
According to diplomatic sources, Trump was decisive in the negotiations with the IMF that made it possible to stabilize Argentina's economic program. In return, the Republican president seeks to deepen an alliance policy that shields Argentina from the advance of Kirchnerism and contains China's geopolitical offensive in the region.
President Milei's agenda in Washington
The international trip of the head of state began on Monday, October 13, when he departed on a special flight to Washington. After more than ten hours of flight, the President arrived at Blair House at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14.
During the day, in addition to the bilateral meeting with Trump, Milei will take part in a ceremony honoring the Republican leader Charlie Kirk, scheduled for 5:00 p.m., and will hold protocol meetings with the staff of the Guest House, where he will sign the guest book and have an official photograph taken.

The agenda will conclude at 10:00 p.m., with the departure of the special flight that will bring him back to Argentina, after a key diplomatic day for the country's international positioning. Arrival in Buenos Aires is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15 at 8:00 a.m.
Milei, a key figure in the Western bloc
The White House sees Milei as a strategic partner in South America and relies on his leadership to contain China's expansion. “Milei is committed to removing China from Argentina,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent declared days ago.

Trump, who considers Xi Jinping his main global adversary, seeks to consolidate a power axis with Argentina as a natural ally of the free world. The meeting at the White House represents decisive political and financial support for Milei, who continues to reposition the country at the center of the Western map.
