The President highlighted the decrease in inflation, the reduction of poverty, and the defense of Western culture in his speech at CPAC
President Javier Milei was one of the main speakers at CPAC Asunción, the world's most important conservative summit. There, he vindicated the legacy of the ideas of freedom, the defense of Western culture, and the achievements reached in less than two years of administration in Argentina.
Additionally, Milei paid a brief tribute after the assassination of United States conservative leader Charlie Kirk.
In a passionate speech, Milei praised Paraguay as an example of economic success in the region, highlighting its stability, low inflation, and sustained growth. At the same time, he contrasted that experience with the decades of decline that Argentina experienced under populist governments. "While Paraguay grew at 3.1% annually, Argentina declined at 0.1%. That is the cost of bad policies," he emphasized.
Achievements of the libertarian administration in Argentina
Milei recalled that when he took office, he found a country in ruins: 57% poverty, 1.5% daily inflation, and a fiscal deficit of 15% of GDP. Faced with that crisis, he promoted an uncompromising adjustment plan.
The results are already tangible:
Poverty dropped from 57% to 30%, which means 12 million Argentines out of poverty.
Extreme poverty was reduced by half, with 6 million people who can now eat thanks to the end of inflation.
Salaries in dollars tripled, rising from 300 to more than 1,100 dollars.
For the first time in 123 years, Argentina achieved zero deficit after interest payments.

Milei also defended the elimination of currency controls and the cleaning up of the Central Bank as decisions based on ethical principles, not electoral calculations. "There is no negotiating with evil," he stressed.
Against socialism and "social justice"
The president strongly criticized the socialist model and the idea of "social justice," which he described as theft disguised as virtue. Quoting Thomas Sowell, he recalled that "social justice is envy plus rhetoric" and warned that this type of policy destroys societies.
For Milei, there is no room for third ways or half measures: "Either we make the deep reforms that are needed or we stay halfway and return to decline. There is no moderate option between deficit and surplus."

Milei and the cultural battle in defense of the West
Beyond the economic aspect, Milei emphasized the importance of the cultural battle. He defended the values of Judeo-Christian ethics, private property, and individual freedom as pillars of progress and prosperity.
In that context, he called on the peoples of South America to unite around freedom and peaceful exchange. "Argentina will be great again if we follow the right values: freedom, life, and property. There is no middle ground," he stated.
The speech ended with the rallying cry that has already become the hallmark of his leadership: "Long live freedom, damn it!"
