Gustavo Mariezcurrena was appointed as the new head of the Ezeiza Customs Operational Department
The Government of Javier Milei, through the Revenue Collection and Customs Control Agency (ARCA), moved forward with a complete reconfiguration of the leadership of the Ezeiza Customs Office, one of the strategic points of the Argentine customs system.
The decision was formalized through a directive issued on January 6 and involved the replacement of the entire Kirchnerist leadership that had been serving until that moment at the country's main airport station.
The central change was the appointment of Gustavo Mariezcurrena as the new head of the Ezeiza Customs Operations Department. From that position, Mariezcurrena will be in charge of managing and reorganizing customs tasks at the international airport, under the direct authority of ARCA's national leadership.

The official reports to the head of the agency, Andrés Vázquez, who took over the agency on December 15, after replacing Juan Pazo following his departure to return to the private sector.
The resolution was not limited to a single appointment. Changes were also ordered in key areas related to customs control and oversight. In that context, Martín Currao was appointed head of Operational Control and Oversight. Until now, that position had been held by Nicolás Vélis.
The reorganization also included changes in other sectors. Alejandra Rodríguez will take over the leadership of the Runway Control area, replacing Gabriel Massimino. Meanwhile, Martín Arias was appointed the new head of the Baggage Control area, a role that until now had been held by Oscar Atilio Conti. These changes complete the new oversight framework at the various operational points of the airport.

The directive bears the signature of the head of ARCA's Human Resources area, Guadalupe González Sanguinetti. The official text bases the decision on the powers that current regulations grant to the agency's leadership.
There it states that the agency has the authority to "organize and regulate the internal functioning of the Agency in its structural, functional, and personnel administration aspects, with the evaluation of the timeliness, merit, or advisability of exercising said powers and/or discretionary authorities falling within its competence."
With this series of appointments and reassignments, the customs control structure in Ezeiza is now aligned with Andrés Vázquez's management at the head of ARCA.
