The process of modernization and redefinition of the Argentine Armed Forces continues to advance under the leadership of President Javier Milei. This week, the Army incorporated 48 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U4000 trucks, high-capacity multipurpose all-terrain vehicles that will be integrated into the force's logistics fleet.
The acquisition is part of the re-equipment and professionalization policy that the Government is promoting through the Ministry of Defense, headed by Luis Petri, which includes everything from the renewal of land equipment to the comprehensive modernization of air and naval systems.

"We are proud that the Argentine Army has chosen us to continue building the Unimog legacy in Argentina," stated Raúl Barcesat, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses Argentina.
The Unimog U4000 model—acronym for Universal Motor Gerät, "universal motorized apparatus"—is recognized worldwide for its versatility and robustness. Equipped with 4x4 all-wheel drive, a 218 HP engine, 8-speed manual transmission with reduction gear, and a fording capacity of up to 1.20 meters (3 feet 11 inches), it can transport up to 4.5 tons and operate in extreme terrains, from mountainous areas to flooded regions.
Lieutenant Colonel Alejandro Oscar Peralta, head of the Technical Department of the Army's General Directorate of Materiel, emphasized that with this model "the robustness and reliability that characterized the Unimog U416 during more than fifty years of service are maintained."
