Javier Milei's Government released an official statement this Friday in which it celebrated the capture of narcoterrorist dictator Nicolás Maduro by the authorities of the United States and set a political and diplomatic position on the scenario that opens up from this event in Venezuela and in the region.
In the text, the libertarian administration described the regime headed by Maduro as "the greatest enemy of freedom on the continent" and compared it with the role that Cuba had during the 1970s. According to the statement, the Venezuelan regime fulfilled a function of regional projection of socialism, terrorism, and different forms of political interference in Latin American countries.
According to the official Argentine position, the Chavista regime carried out "electoral interference in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Bolivia", in addition to using "infiltration strategies in various countries on the continent via massive migration attacks".
The document also mentions the links with non-governmental organizations and international political movements, pointing out that Maduro "has developed alliances with various progressive NGOs to promote the radical left in the world".

The statement adds that the Venezuelan regime strengthened relations with hostile and terrorist actors, stating that Maduro "has strengthened ties with Iran and Hezbollah; has provided logistical support to Hamas and to the guerrilla in Colombia".
In this context, the text keeps that these activities were financed "with drug trafficking revenues that derive from the Cartel of the Suns", an organization that, as it recalls, "was declared a terrorist group by this Government on August 26".
After confirming its support for Maduro's capture, President Javier Milei expressed his support for a political change in Venezuela. In this regard, the statement keeps that "with Maduro's fall", the Argentine head of state supports that "the authorities legitimately elected by the Venezuelan people in the elections held in 2024" can exercise power.
The text explicitly mentions "President-elect Edmundo González Urrutia" as the figure called to assume the constitutional mandate "in accordance with the popular will expressed at the ballot box".

The official pronouncement also highlights the role of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, "Nobel Peace Prize laureate", underscoring her leadership "in the defense of democracy and freedom in Venezuela".
The text also states that the Argentine Republic "trusts that these events represent a decisive step forward against the narcoterrorism that affects the region" and that, at the same time, they allow the beginning of "a stage that will allow the Venezuelan people to fully recover democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights".
In the final section, President Milei "reaffirms his commitment to the safe return of Argentine citizen Nahuel Gallo", who "is still in a situation of arbitrary detention and forced disappearance". In this context, the Government recalled that "the Venezuelan regime is internationally responsible for his physical integrity and his personal safety".
