The clarification comes after rumors and fake news claimed otherwise

Amid political maneuvers and fake news spread during the past week, the Government of Javier Milei confirmed that TV Pública will broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni stated this Thursday in a press conference that the state media outlet will indeed broadcast the tournament, thus denying the version that claimed otherwise. "There has been a media campaign claiming that public television will not broadcast the World Cup. This is false," the official emphasized.

Additionally, Adorni stated that the necessary arrangements are already being made to ensure that Argentinians can enjoy the most important football event on the planet.

The spokesperson also explained that the Executive Branch is working to ensure the coverage is carried out "in the most efficient way" possible, guaranteeing that all citizens have access to the matches, in line with the latest editions of the world championship.

Adorni also took the opportunity to question the demonstration in defense of public media that took place simultaneously with his press conference, arguing that these media outlets "continue to operate normally" and that the protest responds more to political interests than to a genuine concern for the state communication service.

"The media campaign claiming that public television will not broadcast the 2026 World Cup is an attempt to discredit the Government's administration. In fact, I am personally carrying out the arrangements so that Argentinians can watch the World Cup in the most efficient way," the spokesperson stated, denying the false reports.

The Milei Government's clarification comes after the topic gained traction on social media and some news sites in recent days, following fake news that caused uncertainty among people.
