The government of Javier Milei has declared the Venezuelan transnational criminal group, supported by dictator Nicolás Maduro, "Cártel de los Soles" as a terrorist organization, including it in the Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Acts of Terrorism and Their Financing (RePET).
The decision was made within the framework of the international commitments assumed by the Argentine Republic in the fight against terrorism and its financing, and is in accordance with current national regulations. With this measure, the country joins the United States, Ecuador, and Paraguay, which have also designated the Cártel de los Soles as a terrorist organization.
The resolution was coordinated among the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, the Ministry of National Security, and the Ministry of Justice, after evaluating official reports that confirm the group's role in illegal transnational activities. Among these, drug trafficking, smuggling, and illegal exploitation of natural resources stand out, in addition to the existence of links with other criminal structures in Latin America.

With this measure, Milei's government seeks to strengthen preventive and punitive mechanisms against financing operations linked to both terrorism and organized crime.
