The Government of Javier Milei, together with the authorities of Hospital Garrahan, has implemented a historic salary increase that will benefit doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff.
This measure, which raises the basic salary of workers by around 60%, even doubling inflation, consolidates a policy of recognizing the efforts of healthcare personnel and represents one of the most significant increases in the hospital's history.

Since Javier Milei took office on December 10, 2023, Garrahan has begun a deep transformation process based on order, transparency, and administrative efficiency. This path has made it possible to achieve concrete results during 2024, including a fixed monthly bonus that since September has reached $350,000 for non-care staff and $450,000 for care staff, financed with the hospital's own resources without compromising its sustainability.
The new increase, which will be applied to the basic salary and will be retroactive to October, will benefit all permanent staff, public employment contracts, fellows, and residents with an Institutional Fellowship. According to the hospital, the necessary resources are already available to advance payment while the disbursements from the National Government are completed, reflecting orderly and efficient management.

In the official statement, Garrahan emphasized that this increase "is a recognition of the efforts of medical, nursing, technical, and administrative teams" who, even in difficult circumstances, maintained their commitment and ensured the care of thousands of children throughout the country. The statement also highlighted that, despite attempts by some sectors to "use the hospital as a political flag," the staff continued to work with professionalism and dedication.
This decision is part of the process of revaluing the public health system promoted by Milei's Government, which seeks to reward merit, efficiency, and good management of resources. In the words of the statement, "this is how orderly management works: the money is enough, work is valued, and results are visible."
