Milei's government introduced a major curriculum overhaul for schools
The reform seeks to modernize the content and address the main deficiencies in students' learning
Presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, announced on Thursday that Javier Milei's government has presented an ambitious curriculum renewal for the Argentine educational system, aiming to modernize school content and address the main deficiencies in student learning.
The initiative was developed by the Ministry of Human Capital, led by Sandra Pettovello, through the Secretariat of Education, and will be structured around five programmatic pillars.
According to Adorni in his regular press conference, "the first focus will be on strengthening mathematics teaching." This decision comes after the results of the latest Aprender tests, which revealed that only one in ten students reaches the expected level in that area.

The second pillar will focus on implementing a national financial literacy program. "According to information provided by Human Capital, more than 90% of young people use financial instruments and 79% want to learn more about finance in schools," Adorni stated. The proposal seeks to offer practical tools so that students can better understand how money, savings, and credit work.
Third, the reform includes the development of socioemotional skills, and fourth, the promotion of school coexistence. Both pillars aim to improve the classroom environment and provide teachers and students with tools to manage emotions, conflicts, and relationships in a healthy way. The production of specific educational materials and extensive teacher training in these areas is planned.

The fifth and final pillar will be the launch of the Argentine Education Innovation Program with Artificial Intelligence, an unprecedented national initiative that will seek to integrate this technology at different levels of the educational system. The program will address four key aspects: student support, teacher training, content production, and the integration of AI into educational management systems.
With this reform, Javier Milei's government seeks to lay the foundations for a deep educational transformation, aimed at improving learning, modernizing content, and preparing new generations for the challenges of the 21st century.
