President Javier Milei kicked off Argentina Week in Paris with an intense schedule of meetings with authorities and leaders from the international business sector, as part of the Government's strategy to position Argentina as an investment destination.
During the day, the president held private meetings with the Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Mathias Cormann, the President and CEO of LVMH, Bernard Arnault, and the President and CEO of TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanné.
These meetings are part of the activities planned during Argentina Week, an initiative aimed at showcasing the opportunities the country offers to international investors and business leaders, as well as the reforms promoted by Milei's administration.
Meetings with International Economic Leaders
The President's agenda included meetings with some of the main representatives of international organizations and major global companies.
With Mathias Cormann, Milei held a meeting focused on Argentina's relationship with the OECD, an organization the Government seeks to join as a full member. Cormann's participation in the presidential agenda occurred in the context of deepening Argentina's ties with major international economic institutions.
The president also met with Bernard Arnault, President and CEO of LVMH, one of the world's leading business groups and owner of international luxury brands.
Additionally, Milei held a meeting with Patrick Pouyanné, President and CEO of TotalEnergies, an energy company with international presence linked to the development of projects in various markets.
Milei Seeks to Attract Investments During Argentina Week
The presidential agenda in Paris has as one of its main objectives to present the investment opportunities that Argentina offers and to showcase the economic transformation process driven by the Government to international business leaders.
The President will be accompanied during the activities by the Secretary-General of the Presidency, Karina Milei; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Pablo Quirno; the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo; and the Argentine Ambassador to France, Ian Sielecki.
After the private meetings, Milei was scheduled to deliver a speech in front of more than 600 investors, business leaders, and political figures, in one of the main activities of Argentina Week.
The President's participation aims to reinforce the Government's message about the new Argentine economic landscape and the intention to consolidate the country as an attractive market for international capital.
Argentina Week takes place in Paris from September 30 to October 2 and brings together representatives from the public and private sectors to present projects, investment opportunities, and the country's economic outlook.
