Milei warned: 'If we win in September, we'll put the final nail in the coffin.'

Milei stated that the September elections in Buenos Aires will be key to 'putting an end to Kirchnerism.'

President Javier Milei strongly criticizedKirchnerism after the session in the Chamber of Deputies that overturned the Executive Branch's veto of the Disability Emergency Law.

The president linked that vote to an opposition strategy to undermine the Government's economic and electoral stability, and considered that the September elections in the province of Buenos Aires will be a turning point in the political dispute.

During a public speech at"The Council of the Americas", Milei  argued that the opposition seeks to force imbalances in public accounts:  "If you look at the poll numbers, you'll understand what's happening, you'll understand each of the things that are happening. Because it's very simple: we're at a pivotal moment". In that vein, he asserted that the bills promoted in Congress have the sole purpose of "breaking the economy" to harm the ruling party ahead of the elections.

The head of state directly targeted Kirchnerismand described the Buenos Aires elections on September 7 as decisive.

"We're facing the possibility of definitively ending Kirchnerism. Specifically, they split the elections because they can't fully and genuinely confront the National Government. That's why the September 7 election is so important, because basically Kirchnerism is going to throw everything there", he stated.

Milei also warned about the possibility of electoral maneuvers in that district:  "In September Kirchnerism is going to attempt all kinds of fraud: chain voting, 'pregnant' ballot boxes, and operatives in the schools.  Not only that, but also the moral fraud of testimonial candidacies and all the mayors deploying the political machine".

Regarding the difference between the Buenos Aires elections and the national ones, which will be held in October with the implementation of the Single Paper Ballot, the president considered that the first round will serve to gauge Kirchnerism's electoral ceiling, while the second will more clearly reflectcitizen support for his administration.

"What is the problem Kirchnerism faces today? Given that their best election will be in September, we're in a close contest and if people go out to vote, let's say, that contest could tilt in our favor, because the more people vote, the less the political machine weighs", he said.

Finally, Milei concluded his remarks with a forceful political message about the immediate future of the electoral contest:  "If we also manage to beat them in September, because in October we're going to beat them, but if we win in September  we'd be putting the final nail in Kirchnerism's coffin and ending the decadent, manipulative populism that has burdened us so much".
