Milei will send a DNU to Congress to approve the agreement with the IMF and reduce the debt.
This agreement will allow the cancellation of existing debt with the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic.
In line with his commitments made at the opening of ordinary sessions, President Javier Milei announced the issuance of a Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) with the aim of obtaining the support of the National Congress for the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the Office of the President, this agreement will allow the cancellation of existing debt with the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) through a public credit operation, which will result in a reduction of the total national public debt.
Milei's Government highlights that this measure represents an essential step in the sanitation of public accounts and in the stability of the financial system.

By strengthening the balance of the Central Bank, the aim is to consolidate monetary stability, macroeconomic and financial stability of the country, essential elements to continue with the disinflation process and the progressive elimination of exchange restrictions that negatively affect the Argentine economy.
Inflation, identified as one of the main economic scourges that has hit Argentines for years, is the central focus of the current administration's policies.
In this regard, Milei's Government considers that there is no more urgent and necessary issue than the fight against rising prices. The President expressed his confidence that Congress will understand the importance of this agreement and provide its support to turn economic stability into a state policy.

The official statement highlights that all previous governments have had parliamentary support for measures of this type and emphasizes the importance of the people's representatives reflecting the mandate expressed at the polls, supporting a policy that seeks to solve long-standing structural problems.
With this strategy, Javier Milei's Government reaffirms its commitment to fiscal discipline, debt reduction, and the stability of the financial system.
In recent months, the Executive has advanced in economic deregulation and state simplification, measures that seek to generate confidence in the markets and attract investments that drive growth.
The sending of the DNU to Congress opens a new chapter in the relationship between the Government and the Legislative Power, which will have to debate and decide on a key initiative for the country's economic direction.
The ruling party expects a quick and favorable treatment of the measure, trusting that the legislators will act with responsibility to guarantee the stability and welfare of Argentines.
