The president Javier Milei will travel to the United States to participate in the celebrations of July 4th, which commemorates Independence Day in that country, in a visit that will begin in New York City and extend to other parts of the country.
The Argentine president's participation will coincide with a particularly significant date for the United States. This year marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence of 1776, the document that formalized the break from the British Empire.
In this context, President Donald Trump is promoting initiatives to highlight the date, including the proposal to issue a 250-dollar bill featuring his image, which would represent an exceptional event in the country's monetary history.

At the same time, the trip will overlap with another global event: the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. However, they clarified that attending the matches of the Argentine national team during the competition is not part of their plans.
The Milei government maintains that these types of trips are part of a defined foreign policy line aimed at strengthening ties with the United States.
Milei has repeatedly stated that his administration seeks a direct alignment with that power and the Trump administration, with the goal of improving the country's international projection and creating more favorable conditions for investment inflows.

This rapprochement is not limited to the diplomatic sphere. In recent months, concrete signals have been recorded in various areas. At the end of April, the head of state participated in the naval exercise Passex 2026 off the coast of Mar del Plata, where he boarded the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz.
There have also been advances in institutional cooperation and security matters. In March, the head of the State Intelligence Secretariat (SIDE), Cristian Auguadra, held a meeting with the CIA director, John Ratcliffe, at the agency's headquarters in Langley.
In recent hours, Milei also held meetings with political representatives from the United States, including members of the House Appropriations Committee and Ambassador Peter Lamelas.
The President's new trip thus fits into a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship at multiple levels with the Trump administration.
