Uncontrolled violence once again struck the residents of Córdoba after a brutal attack in the Yapeyú neighborhood. Luna Rocío López, 22 years old, is fighting for her life after she received a shot in the back that caused a complete spinal cord injury. The young woman was caught in a shootout of more than 20 shots fired by minors.
The attack occurred early Saturday morning when a gang of criminals opened fire on the victim's home. The Police arrested 3 teenage suspects, 2 of whom already had an extensive criminal record. The Juvenile Court sent them to the Complejo Esperanza while the area is experiencing hours of maximum tension.
The medical prognosis is guarded and the family fears that Luna may not be able to walk again due to the severity of the injuries. The case once again exposes the failure of judicial garantismo that allows dangerous minors to circulate armed with total impunity. The investigation points to a personal revenge carried out with the coldness of professional hitmen.

Weapons of war in children's hands and chaos
The victim's family had to abandon their home for fear of new reprisals from territorial gangs. Neighbors' testimonies confirm the existence of a "puntero" who hands out weapons of war to teenagers so they can commit crimes. This individual strolls with impunity carrying machine guns through the streets of Yapeyú in the face of state inaction.
The Police seized cell phones that will be examined in order to unravel the network of complicities behind the attack. However, the lack of security cameras in the area makes it difficult to collect direct visual evidence. The provincial state is conspicuously absent in territories dominated by crime.
The main hypothesis suggests that one of the minors planned the attack after a dispute over a cell phone. The impunity with which these criminal groups operate jeopardizes the safety of all Córdoba residents. Honest citizens keep falling victim to bullets fired by minors who go in and out of institutions.

Bornoroni demands lowering the age of criminal responsibility
National deputy Gabriel Bornoroni reacted firmly to the incident and demanded the urgent approval of the Juvenile Criminal Law. The libertarian leader pointed out that those arrested in the Yapeyú case already had more than 15 prior records accumulated. "The current system is an absolute failure that protects the perpetrators," the legislator stated.
The La Libertad Avanza lawmaker called for unanimous support to lower the age of criminal responsibility to 13 years. He harshly criticized left-wing sectors and Kirchnerism for systematically opposing the protection of decent people. "It's time for criminals to pay, regardless of how old they are," Bornoroni asserted.
