La Mona Jiménez convicted in Córdoba: he must pay $90 million to unrecognized daughter
The court established that the musician was aware of the paternity before the birth and delayed the acknowledgment
The Córdoba court ordered Juan Carlos "La Mona" Jiménez to pay compensation of more than $90 million. The ruling states that the singer was aware of his daughter's existence before her birth. However, he unjustifiably delayed both legal and emotional recognition.
The decision was issued by the Civil and Commercial Court of the 49th Nomination of the city of Córdoba. Judge María Virginia Arato considered the moral damage and loss of opportunity suffered by the young woman to be proven. The lawsuit was filed by N. R. J. R., who is the biological daughter of the artist.

According to the court ruling, Jiménez did not present evidence disproving his prior knowledge of the filial relationship. On the contrary, witnesses and documents proved that he was aware of the pregnancy. His contact with the young woman's mother on several occasions was also confirmed.
Key evidence that dismantled his version
One of the most compelling pieces of evidence was a letter written by the singer himself. In it, he sends a photo to his daughter with the message: "A Cordobés loves you." The judge pointed out that this phrase demonstrated an emotional bond and was not a generic message for a fan.
The ruling also took into account photographs showing meetings between Jiménez and the young woman. Those images were taken before the legal recognition of paternity. In addition, it was proven that the musician's circle had contact with the maternal family.

In his defense, Jiménez claimed that he only learned of the young woman's existence during the judicial mediation. However, his argument was refuted by multiple elements in the case file. The court concluded that there was prior knowledge and a deliberate delay in recognizing her.
