
Monte Quemado: a vendor is arrested for offering 'milanesas' made of toilet paper
The unusual incident took place in Santiago del Estero during a food safety inspection operation
An unusual operation in the Santiago city of Monte Quemado ended with the arrest of a street vendor from Tucumán who was offering milanesas and chorizos made with toilet paper. The intervention was carried out by the Municipal Directorate of Quality of Life and Food Safety, with support from the Police.
Serious health violations
During the inspection, the agents found not only the adulterated food but also severe hygiene failures at the stand. Among them, contaminated surfaces and improper handling of the products were recorded, which posed a serious risk to consumers.

After confirming the irregularities, the authorities ordered the immediate seizure of the merchandise, drafted an infraction report, and ordered the closure of the place. The man, a native of Tucumán, was detained by police officers and a criminal complaint was filed against him.

The incident occurred during the religious and cultural festivities in honor of the Virgin of Carballo, which brought together thousands of people in Monte Quemado.
Thanks to the swift intervention, attendees were prevented from consuming adulterated products that could have caused serious health problems.
