Nacho Viale canceled the play about Mirtha Legrand due to a controversial poster
The diva's grandson demanded the cancellation of the play 'El Mito' by Muscari for not fulfilling the agreement
Sunday, May 25 marked the early end of El Mito, the play directed by José María Muscari which paid tribute toMirtha Legrand. The decision to cancel it was neither artistic nor economic: it was familial.
Nacho Viale, producer and grandson of the legendary host, requested the cancellation after seeing a promotional poster that, according to him, misled the public. In that image, Muscari and Mirtha Legrand appeared together.
Viale's circle interpreted that the poster could suggest that Mirtha was participating in the play, which was not true. That potential confusion was the trigger for the conflict.
The reaction of the circle and Viale's request
Adrián Pallares revealed on Intrusos (América TV) that Viale considered the advertisement as "misleading." In his view, the presence of the photo could make the public believe that Mirtha would be present or have some role in the production.

Pallares also mentioned that, up to that point, the production did not have formal authorization from Mirtha to continue with the play. Therefore, it was decided to end it abruptly.
The journalist expressed his wish for Mirtha herself to intervene to reverse the decision. However, as of May 19, there were no updates that changed the fate of El Mito.
Unexpected end for a tribute play
The end of the play surprised the theatrical community and the public, as it was a tribute to a central figure of Argentine television. Despite the praiseworthy content, the family controversy weighed more.
The decision highlighted the tension between honoring a public figure and respecting the limits of using their image. In this case, respect for Mirtha's figure prevailed over artistic continuity.
