The National Government has formalized a new salary update for members of the Gendarmería Nacional, corresponding to the salaries for October 2025. This measure is part of the staggered increase scheme that has been in effect since June and will be completed in November.
The decision was published in Resolution 944/2025 of the Official Gazette and covers all federal forces. It includes the Policía Federal Argentina, the Prefectura Naval, the Policía de Seguridad Aeroportuaria, and auxiliary Security and Defense personnel.

The Ministry of Security has established a salary adjustment that covers both basic salaries and various functional supplements. Among these are the supplement for Neighborhood Prevention Functions and the compensation for Service Overtime, aimed at recognizing the operational and risk-related work of personnel.
The increases have been applied monthly since June and will continue through November, including all complementary items.

Requirements to join Gendarmería Nacional
The Ministry of Security is keeping applications open for new candidates. The main requirements to apply are:
Be Argentine, either by birth or by choice.
Be between 17 and 25 years old as of December 31 of the application year.
Have a completed secondary school diploma or proof of diploma in process.
Have no judicial, police, or contraventional records.
Meet the required medical, psychological, and physical examinations.
Comply with regulations regarding tattoos and the applicant's self-perceived identity.
