Netflix confirmed that starting on May 15, 2026, it will no longer be compatible with a series of Smart TVs and older mobile phones that can no longer receive new software updates.
The measure will mainly impact televisions manufactured before 2014 or 2015 and mobile devices that cannot be updated to iOS 18 or Android 9.

According to reports, most Smart TVs manufactured from 2016 onwards will continue to function normally with the platform.
The issue particularly affects older models from brands like Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, and Apple.

Apple TV: first, second, and third generation.
LG: Infinia LX9500 and Nano LED LM9600 series.
Panasonic: AX900, VT50, and VIERA TC-P50VT25 models.
Sony: Bravia KDL, XBR, and W95 lines.
Samsung: Smart TV models from the EOS series.

To check if the device is still compatible, users can see if the Netflix app continues to appear in the main menu or in the TV's app store.
