The province of Neuquén continues to consolidate its enogastronomic profile and has added a new figure to enhance the development of the wine sector: the recognition of sommelier Sergio Landoni as the first Ambassador of Neuquén Wine.
The distinction was awarded as part of the update of the Neuquén Gastronomy Distinction Seal, a provincial strategy aimed at integrating production, tourism, and gastronomy to position Neuquén as one of the major wine destinations in Patagonia.
Neuquén wine seeks to consolidate its own identity
Based in San Martín de los Andes since 1996, Landoni has been working for years to promote regional wine through experiences that combine:
gastronomy
Patagonian landscape
tourism
wine culture
direct contact with producers
“The idea is for Neuquén wine to be naturally incorporated into dishes and to be part of the experience. That is also identity,” emphasized the sommelier.
The province aims precisely to strengthen that connection between wineries, restaurants, and tourist circuits.
The growth of Patagonian wine in Neuquén
The recognition of Landoni reflects the sustained growth that the Neuquén wine industry has experienced in recent years.
The region has managed to position itself due to the quality and personality of its wines, especially thanks to:
cold climates
great thermal amplitude
Patagonian soils
low humidity
As Landoni explained, Neuquén wine is characterized by being:
“very fresh, very honest, and with a strong regional identity”
Among the most notable varieties is the Patagonian Malbec, although varieties such as Pinot Noir and various fresh white wines are also gaining prominence.
“Wine to the Mountain,” a fair that promotes Patagonian wineries
One of the most important projects promoted by Landoni is “Wine to the Mountain”, a specialized fair that exclusively brings together wineries from Patagonia.
Neuquén is making a strong bet on wine.
The first edition took place in 2025 in San Martín de los Andes and brought together more than 20 regional producers.
The goal of the event is:
to bring Patagonian wine closer to the public
to generate links between wineries
to strengthen regional identity
to promote enotourism
Neuquén seeks to strengthen the entire enogastronomic chain
The incorporation of the figure of Ambassador of Neuquén Wine is part of a broader strategy promoted by the province to consolidate the entire enogastronomic value chain.
The official commitment combines:
regional production
tourism
gastronomy
cultural promotion
economic development
At the same time, interest in wine-related experiences is growing in tourist destinations in Patagonia, where wineries are also beginning to transform into attractions for national and international visitors.
Neuquén wine gains space in Argentine gastronomy
The growth of the Neuquén wine sector also reflects a broader phenomenon: the advancement of Patagonian wine within the Argentine market and in international circuits.
With new wineries, tourist proposals, and specialized references, Neuquén seeks to position itself as a province where wine not only represents agricultural production but also a cultural and gastronomic experience linked to the landscape of the mountains and regional identity.
