Glowmade and Amazon Games have announced that King of Meat will officially arrive on October 7, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Nintendo Switch users will have to wait until early 2026 to join the experience. The game will allow up to four players in cooperative mode and will feature more than 100 dungeons available from day one.

Open beta in August with rewards

Before launch, there will be an open beta on August 23 and 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam. During those days, players will be able to try cooperative combat, solve puzzles, and overcome platforming challenges.

Additionally, those who watch Twitch streams for at least 30 minutes will receive the exclusive Beta Rewards Top cosmetic item, transferable to the full game once released.

A game designed for the community

One of the pillars of King of Meat will be its Create Mode, which will allow users to design and share custom dungeons.

This system aims to foster creativity and keep the content catalog alive as the community expands. The best designs may even be officially integrated in future updates.

No "pay-to-win" models and free updates

Amazon Games has assured that the project will not incorporate aggressive monetization schemes.

All future expansions, game modes, customization tools, and additional dungeons will be free for those who purchase the base title. The intention is to maintain an accessible, transparent ecosystem free of financial surprises.

The debate in the gaming industry

The decision to avoid the "pay-to-win" model comes in a context of criticism toward major publishers for implementing invasive microtransactions. King of Meat seeks to set itself apart with a clear approach, betting on trust and building an active community.

Nevertheless, questions remain about the frequency of updates and the real influence the community will have in the selection of official content. There is also the possibility that social incentives may arise to acquire cosmetic items.

For now, King of Meat stands out as a positive example in the industry, with a launch that promises cooperative action, creativity, and a fairer relationship with players.
