Neymar returns to the Brazilian national team to play against Argentina and Colombia
Ney hadn't played with the 'Canarinha' since October 2023, when he suffered a serious knee injury.
The Brazilian star returns to the national team after 17 months of absence due to a serious injury suffered in October 2023. Coach Dorival Júnior has called him up for the upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifying matches against Colombia and Argentina.
In a press conference, Brazil's head coach emphasized that no one can do without a player of Neymar Jr.'s quality, even if he is still in full recovery. "His own teammates have highlighted what he represents for the group and everyone knows him very well," the coach mentioned. However, the coach doesn't have high expectations for the Brazilian star's return in terms of his level and hopes he can contribute in terms of the team's "balance and consistency" for the crucial upcoming matches.

With the list published, Neymar expressed his joy for his draft through his social media, expressing his enthusiasm for wearing his country's jersey again after overcoming his tough injury, a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee, which kept him out of the national team for over a year.
Since his return to Santos in January of this year, Neymar has shown outstanding performance, scoring three goals and providing two assists in seven matches. His performance has been key to his draft, and he is expected to bring his experience and talent to these crucial matches.
