Migrations revoked the residency of Spaniard Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí, PRO strategist

The former Kirchnerist advisor, now a PRO collaborator, had an expired temporary residency

The National Directorate of Migrations decided to revoke the residency of Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí, who currently serves as a political strategist for PRO in the City of Buenos Aires.

Migrations based its decision on the fact that Gutiérrez-Rubí's temporary residency had expired. When requesting a new authorization, the consultant declared he was working at the National University of Tres de Febrero, but Migrations personnel verified that this information was false. Additionally, they pointed out that it is publicly known that he currently collaborates with PRO.

People close to the renowned international consultant indicated that he has already been notified of the measure and is focused on his legal defense. "I'll defend myself," he assured his closest circle.

Gutiérrez-Rubí was the subject of harsh criticism from the Government of Javier Milei, especially due to his role as an advisor in the presidential campaign of the former Kirchnerist Minister of Economy Sergio Massa in 2023. Gutiérrez-Rubí was the creator of the infamous "fear campaign" that Massa conducted against Milei.

The consultant describes himself on his social media as a "political communication specialist." He is the founder and director of Ideograma and has worked with political leaders and left-wing leaders from different countries, as well as with top executives of major global companies.

"El Catalán"

This Spanish consultant, known as "El Catalán," worked in the last presidential campaign alongside Sergio Massa, the defeated candidate of Unión por la Patria in 2023 and the former Minister of Economy who left the country on the brink of the worst crisis in history.

His advisory history also includes the corrupt former president Cristina Kirchner, who followed his recommendations until her setback in the 2017 primary elections in the province of Buenos Aires.

On that occasion, the former president created Unidad Ciudadana and attempted to modify her communication strategy: she offered interviews, used a format of events surrounded by citizens, something characteristic of Mauricio Macri at that time, guided by Jaime Durán Barba, abandoned the podium, and reduced the presence of party symbols or La Cámpora flags.

He also advised Kirchnerist mayors like Fernando Espinoza, from La Matanza, a key district for the PJ in the Buenos Aires suburbs, and Fernando Gray, the communal chief of Esteban Echeverría. During the government of the Frente de Todos in 2019, he attempted to reorient the Kirchnerist management of Alberto Fernández.

In addition to having worked with Cristina Kirchner and Alberto Fernández in Argentina, he was a key figure in the election of the communist Gustavo Petro in Colombia.

That victory opened new opportunities for him in Mexico, where he supported the socialist Claudia Sheinbaum, the candidate chosen by Andrés Manuel López Obrador to face the right. When Sheinbaum became the president of Mexico, Gutiérrez-Rubí was one of the minds behind her campaign.
