OSPRERA reduced its deficit by 2,000 million pesos under Milei's intervention.

The monthly deficit went from 4,500 million pesos in 2024 to an average of 2,500 million in the first quarter of 2025

The intervention in the  Social Work of Rural and Dock Workers of the Argentine Republic (OSPRERA) has led to a notable reduction in the  financial deficit of the entity.

According to the latest administration report, the monthly deficit went from 4.5 billion pesos in 2024 to an average of 2.5 billion in the first quarter of 2025.

This result is due to the actions implemented under the intervention promoted by the government of Javier Milei, which continues to apply financial sanitation strategies.

The reduction of OSPRERA's deficit was achieved thanks to multiple measures that have improved fund management and optimized available resources. Among them are:

  • Prioritization of payments: 75% of available funds were allocated to medical services and medications, while  only 25% was used for operations and personnel.
  • Management of remunerated funds: Through Banco Nación, a "remunerated account" was implemented, generating a financial benefit of 46 million pesos in March.
  • Reduction of tax burdens: The withholdings of the  Bank Credits and Debits Tax were reduced by 60%, implying a monthly saving of 360 million pesos.
  • Review of undue withholdings: The reincorporation of OSPRERA into the exempt register of Misiones was managed, avoiding Gross Income discounts that reached  700 million pesos.

A path to sustainability

While the deficit of 2.5 billion monthly remains a challenge, the trend shows that the intervention is yielding positive results. Additionally, with the action plans underway, it is expected to continue reducing the deficit in the coming months.

The sanitation of OSPRERA aligns with the economic policy of the government of Milei, which seeks to eradicate fund mismanagement in the health system and other key areas. The optimization of resources and efficient management have been essential for this progress, and the positive trend is projected to be sustained over time.
