In a country that until recently was on the margins of the international sports map, the 2025 Paraguay Rally has burst onto the scene, generating an economic impact of more than 133 million dollars and positioning the South American country as a new epicenter of world motorsport.
Held between August 28 and 31 in the department of Itapúa, in southern Paraguay, the event attracted more than 210,000 attendees, including more than 51,000 foreigners, in a clear demonstration of the country's growing tourist and sports appeal. The competition, part of the prestigious World Rally Championship (WRC), was not only a spectacle of speed and skill but also a driver of economic development.

According to the report prepared by consulting firm Mentu Aliados, the economic impact is broken down into 67.6 million dollars in direct benefits, coming from spectator spending on accommodation, gastronomy, transportation, and shopping, and 65.7 million in indirect benefits, including the multiplier effect of consumption and the advertising value equivalent (AVE) from international media exposure.
The sectors that benefited the most were gastronomy (+150%), electronics (+142%), fuel (+89%), supermarkets (+57%), and hotels (+50%), with more than 3,800 businesses mobilized. In towns such as Nueva Alborada and Carmen del Paraná, electronic transactions grew by up to 516% compared to the previous year.
In exclusive statements to La Derecha On Line, César Marsal, CEO of the Paraguay Rally, emphasized the role of political leadership in the event's success: "This achievement is the result of coordinated work and the leadership of President Santiago Peña, who trusted our ability to organize a world-class event. The WRC not only positioned Paraguay as the country of the motorsport world championship but also boosted the economy and strengthened our international image".
