Overlapping construction projects, well-maintained streets destroyed, medians, bike lanes, and traffic chaos expose disastrous management
The city of Córdoba is mired in traffic chaos. The incompetence of the capital's mayor, Daniel Passerini, is once again evident among residents due to his institutional neglect, which worsens urban mobility day by day.
This erratic policy, which sacrifices road circulation in exchange for useless public works, only demonstrates the improvisation of Passerini's administration. Criticism present since the beginning of his term today targets public works, bike lanes, and medians that hinder local traffic.

Overlapping and illogical public works
In different parts of Córdoba, public works progress without coordination or any evident technical criteria. Streets in good condition are destroyed without clear justification, while traffic becomes impassable. Residents, drivers, and pedestrians experience constant delays and detours, with a city increasingly paralyzed.
Several projects are carried out simultaneously on main avenues and key downtown areas: an example of this was the modification of the Av. Colón and Avellaneda intersection. The historic corner of Plaza Colón underwent inexplicable renovations that, day by day, generate absurd chaos and traffic jams due to the difficulty drivers face when turning at that intersection.

The municipality opens recently repaved streets, raising suspicions about the use of public funds. There is no official communication explaining the priority or urgency of these interventions.
Public transportation is forced to alter its routes, affecting frequency and service. The situation also complicates the work of essential services such as ambulances or delivery drivers, who can't circulate normally.
More medians and bike lanes
On high-traffic avenues, such as Boulevard San Juan and Avenida Maipú, central medians are installed that reduce the usable roadway. These projects, more aesthetic than functional, deepen conflicts among cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers. Far from organizing traffic, they create bottlenecks and dangerous blind spots.
In addition, renovation works on main streets or avenues—which had already been repaired—create even more chaos. Drivers must detour more than usual due to traffic jams or closures, while pedestrians walk on the roadway or skirt around worksites without minimum safety guarantees.

Municipal incompetence
This only demonstrates, once again, the total improvisation that is the Daniel Passerini municipality. The mayor elected in 2023, who is part of Córdoba's Peronism, has accumulated in his management record scandals resulting from his institutional neglect. He hinted at this at the end of last April, when he asked his entire cabinet to resign without prior notice, amid internal tensions within his party.
Wastefulness, neglect, and abusive taxes are examples of a useless administration that only suffocates citizens and complicates daily life with poorly executed and even worse justified decisions. Córdoba residents face a chaotic scenario every day, with no clear answers from Passerini's administration.
Because, as Javier Milei has said on multiple occasions: "When a politician talks to you about an efficient State, it's just a mask to rob you."
The State can never be efficient, and Passerini demonstrates this once again with his municipal neglect in the city of Córdoba capital.
