The photo and travel blog Capture the Atlas selected an image taken by Argentine Alejandra Heis among the 25 best Milky Way photos of 2025.
The international competition brings together stunning photos of the night sky taken in different places around the world and from space.
Capture the Atlas highlights images for their technical excellence and their ability to showcase the beauty of the universe.
The photographer from Mar del Plata captured a spectacular nighttime panorama of the sky at Salinas Grandes, in Jujuy.
Under the title "Universe of Salt," Alejandra Heis portrayed a night at this salt flat in northwestern Argentina, which earned her the distinction from the international blog.
Heis expressed on her Instagram account: "I still can't believe it! I'm immensely happy that one of my images was selected by Capture the Atlas among the top 25 Milky Way photographs of 2025. I feel small in this world with unbelievable photographers, but here I am, sharing with some of them."
She also thanked Dan Safra for considering her work, highlighting how important that is for the photographer.
Finally, she stated she's "proud of this beautiful country. I want to show its diversity of landscapes and amazing skies."
On her Instagram account (@alejandraheis.ph) she shares images of landscapes and natural environments, although her nighttime photos stand out the most.
Heis's achievement places her alongside great photographers and highlights Argentina and its landscapes as an exceptional destination for astrophotography.
