The pilot test for the return of both fan bases in CABA was a complete success.
The match between Argentinos Juniors and Excursionistas featured the presence of both sets of fans in CABA, something unprecedented since the restriction on spectators in 2013
Argentinos Juniors defeated Excursionistas 3-0 and advanced to the round of 16 of the Copa Argentina. However, the most relevant aspect of the day was not the resounding victory of the La Paternal team nor the defeat of the lower division team, but rather the remarkable coexistence between both fan bases at the Nuevo Gasómetro.
For the first time in more than ten years, supporters of two different clubs shared a stadium in an official competition within the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Although Copa Argentina has never prohibited this practice in other venues across the country, the capital had not yet hosted this type of experience since total public access was restricted in 2013.
Once the match ended and after a peaceful coexistence between Bichos and Villeros, the Buenos Aires City Security Ministry positively assessed the operation carried out at the Pedro Bidegain stadium, which was considered a successful pilot test.

Meanwhile, the only negative aspect of this historic afternoon was that the City Police reported the issuance of 14 misdemeanor citations. Among the most relevant were six for attempted entry without a ticket, two for violation of the right of admission, and one for possession of a non-conventional weapon.
In addition, an attendee, whose identity and club affiliation were not specified, was charged with possession of narcotics for personal use.

Argentinos Juniors' next opponent in Copa Argentina
After a resounding victory over Excursionistas, the Bichito from La Paternal will face the winner of the Estudiantes de La Plata and the recently promoted Aldosivi matchup. This match will be played on Sunday, June 1 at 1:10 p.m. at the Estadio Tito Tomaghello, home of Defensa y Justicia, and will be refereed by Bryan Ferreyra.
