Pokémon Pocket, the mobile adaptation of the classic Pokémon Trading Card Game, is preparing to celebrate its first anniversary with a series of innovations that promise to revitalize the gaming experience. The title, officially released on October 30, 2024, has established itself as one of the most successful Japanese saga offerings in the mobile sector, and the developers have confirmed that the celebrations will include new features, improvements, and brand-new content.
The announcement was made through the official Pokémon TCG Pocket account on X (formerly Twitter), where the team thanked the community for the support received during its first year. "We couldn't have achieved this milestone without you, and we're grateful to every player who has joined us on this adventure so far," they wrote, anticipating that the new features will arrive at the end of October.
New features for sharing and trading cards
Among the main additions coming with the first anniversary update is the implementation of a new card gifting system, which will allow players to send and receive cards among friends. The cards may have a value ranging from 1 to 4 diamonds, and one can be sent per day to each contact. Meanwhile, those who receive cards will be able to select and accept one per day, encouraging interaction within the community.
Another notable improvement is the expansion of the range of tradable cards. From now on, it will be possible to trade cards from more recent expansions, as well as those of higher rarities, including two-star cards and shiny versions of one or two stars. This change aims to energize the game's internal market and offer greater opportunities to collectors.
