The Polish government reported that a house and a car were hit after its airspace was violated

Tension in Eastern Europe continues to rise following the incursion of 19 Russian drones into Poland during the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, a house and a car were damaged, although no casualties were reported. Polish forces, in cooperation with NATO, deployed fighter jets and helicopters to intercept the unmanned aircraft.
Drone debris and a missile found on Polish territory
The spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior, Kinga Gałecka, confirmed the discovery of debris from seven drones and a projectile of unknown origin, possibly linked to Polish air defense operations. The first discovery occurred at 05:30 GMT in Mniszków, in the eastern part of the country, and subsequently, fragments were found in other regions, including a drone in the Łódź province, located more than 300 kilometers (186 miles) from the Belarusian border.

The magnitude of the airspace violation was evidenced by the amount of recovered debris, which reinforces the hypothesis that the drones were deliberately directed against Polish territory.
Poland and NATO's military response
Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that the attacks occurred between 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, in what he described as one of the most critical days since the start of the war in Ukraine. For the first time, several of the drones entered from Belarus, which intensifies concern in Warsaw.
Poland deployed two F-35 fighter jets, two F-16s, and MI-24, MI-17, and Black Hawk helicopters to repel the threat, while the Netherlands and Italy collaborated with their own aircraft under the coordination of NATO's Air Command.
Escalation of tension and consultations within NATO
In response to what it described as "unprecedented violations" of its airspace, Poland invoked Article 4 of the NATO treaty to hold urgent consultations with its allies. Tusk and President Karol Nawrocki agreed on the need to prepare a joint response that would send a clear message to Moscow.

Although Tusk warned that the country is "closer to open conflict than ever since World War II", he emphasized that there is no reason to declare a state of war. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces confirmed that the situation has stabilized and the four airports that were closed as a precaution have resumed normal operations.
Poland on the front line of European security
This new episode confirms Poland's vulnerability as a direct border of the war in Ukraine and as a key corridor for military and humanitarian aid to Kyiv. The drone attack reinforces the perception that Russia seeks to gauge NATO's response and test the limits of European security.
