
Polar wave in Córdoba: temperatures as low as -15°C (5°F) in some areas
This Monday, the province experienced the coldest morning of the year. What does the forecast say?
While on Sunday, snow covered much of the Sierras in white and even reached Córdoba's capital, on Monday morning the lowest temperature of the year was recorded.
There were areas near Altas Cumbres and the Traslasierra Valley where roads were closed for safety, with the thermometer dropping to -15 °C (5 °F).

The polar cold wave offers no respite in Córdoba, where it is estimated that the extreme cold will persist at least until next Wednesday.
Parador El Cóndor, in Altas Cumbres, recorded -15.1 °C (4.8 °F), the lowest temperature in Córdoba on Monday.

Although, strictly speaking, there were several areas where the thermometer registered below -10 °C (14 °F).
In Ambul, in the west of the province, -14 °C (6.8 °F) was recorded, while in Los Reartes, -12.5 °C (9.5 °F).

No classes in Córdoba due to the cold
Many schools in Córdoba's capital and the interior suspended classes due to the cold.
The Provincial Ministry of Education issued a statement establishing that attendance at educational institutions is not mandatory.
"Absences will not be counted," the education department announced Sunday night.
